About Startup Climate Action and Test Drive

Startup Climate Action is a challenge-driven initiative by Sting and Norrsken inspired by SDG 13 Climate Action, aiming to create more fast-growing startups that contribute innovative and scalable solutions to combat climate change. Startup Climate Action was launched in June 2020, when 13 leading Swedish Climate Champions presented 13 Climate Challenges that need to be solved. The initiative is made up of four phases: Ideation, Deep Dive, Test Drive, and Accelerator.

The 19 pitching early-stage startups have advanced through the Ideation and Deep Dive phases to the Test Drive program, passing two selection processes along the way. In the Test Drive program, consisting of a series of evening workshops combined with some individual coaching and mentoring, they have received tools, methods, and support to further develop, test, and validate their business ideas. On 23 November it is time for the Test Drive Grand Finale where the 19 new climate startups will pitch their ideas to a jury of investors and experts and Top 3 Winners will be selected.

In 2021 Sting will run a dedicated Climate Action Accelerator for six carefully selected startups, providing tailored acceleration support to up and coming climate startups. The #1 Winner from the Test Drive will qualify directly for one of the slots in the accelerator, and the #2 and #3 Winners will be invited directly to the selection pitch-finals. It is open for applications until 1 December 2020.
